Bodega Fernando de Castilla receives its name in honor of this king, also called “El Santo”, who conquered much of Andalusia in the thirteenth century and who discovered the exceptional qualities of the soil and climate of the Marco de Jerez to produce wines of exceptional quality.

Andrada-Vanderwilde family
The history of the winery begins with the Andrada-Vanderwilde family, which has a long tradition in the area and two centuries ago already produced grapes and wines for the production of Sherry wines.
In 1972, Mr. Fernando Andrada-Vanderwilde created the brand “Fernando de Castilla” with the idea of producing a brandy of exceptional quality. Later he incorporated a high quality Pedro Ximénez and a Sherry Vinegar.

The Norwegian Jan Pettersen has been linked professionally to Marco de Jerez since 1983 and sentimentally all his life. In 1999 he saw his dream come true, being able to materialize this passion in the acquisition of the Fernando de Castilla winery, which he has endowed since then with an international perspective, taking his wines, brandies and vinegars to the most prestigious wine bars and restaurants in the world.
